Alicia Kemp ’11, 4th Year Med Student Visits Today!!

Alicia Kemp ’11, a fourth year medical student at the University of Minnesota Medical School – Twin Cities, will be coming to speak to the Pre-Health Club TONIGHT at 5 pm in RNS 356B! She will be sharing her advice and experiences with the application process as well as in medical school. Since she is in her fourth year, she is currently applying for her residency. This is a great opportunity to come and ask about some tips for succeeding before and during medical school! She is also bringing two other friends who also happen to be medical students. We hope to see you all there!

Case Western Medical School Webinar


Christian Essman, Director of Admissions at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, will be hosting a webinar for St. Olaf and Case Western students. This is a good opportunity to compare medical schools and get advice from a former Dean of Admissions. Bring questions!

Current St. Olaf seniors on various Pre-health tracks will be discussing their experiences with scheduling at St. Olaf, extracurricular activities, and the next steps you should take to be prepared to apply to medical school, dental school, etc.

Ole Med Registration is Now Open!


Join Ole alumni and parents involved in the field of medicine for a reception at the Weismann Art Museum at the University of Minnesota on Thursday, November 13th, 5:30pm-7:00pm. You will have the chance to hear from “pop-up” speakers, and talk with alumni and parents that are physicians in different medical specialties. Bus transportation provided to and from Buntrock Commons.

Beneficial for all students, regardless of class year and academic discipline to network and engage with the St. Olaf community.

Dr. Michael Solhaug ’67 Webinar


Dr. Michael Solhaug ’67, former Dean of Admissions of Eastern Virginia Medical School, will be hosting a webinar for St. Olaf and EVMS students on Thursday, October 23 at 4:30p in RNS 356B. The webinar will be about medical school and how to do your best on the application. There will be medical students from St. Olaf present who will give advice to current pre-med students.

Exploring Careers in Health Care Panel


On Tuesday October 21, 2014, we will be hosting a Health Care Panel in which alumni health professionals, including veterinarians, optometrists, dentist and biostatisticians, will be speaking informally about their career paths. We encourage you to attend this event because it’s a great way to learn about different possibilities for careers in health care. Once again, you will be able to ask questions to individuals or to the whole panel regarding their professions and career paths. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

Lauren Sevcik – M1 medical student from Creighton visits



Lauren Sevcik, an M1 student at Creighton, will be coming to speak to us on October 20th at 4:30p. She will talk about the application process to medical school and about life as a medical student. Attending this event is a great way to learn more about the Medical School application process from someone who has been through the process and survived! If you are at all considering a career as a physician, this is a great time to get your questions answered and to learn about what lies ahead for you.
